Transfer to Sigiriya and climb the mighty Sigiriya rock fortress after breakfast.

Sigiriya: The 5th-century fortress, "the Fortress in the Sky", is perhaps the island's most spectacular single wonder. At the fortress entrance there once stood a lion gateway. Within its triple-moat system the enormous rock rises almost vertically to a height of about 152 metres. On the summit are the remains of what was once a magnificent palace with gardens and a pool. Along one of the stairways the only known ancient secular Sinhalese paintings have been preserved as frescoes depicting life-size women.
